CYAA
has one Babe Ruth baseball team. Babe
Ruth is a competitive regulation baseball league designed to teach
skills, mental and physical development, a respect for the rules of the game,
and basic ideals of sportsmanship and fair play. All players who register for the Babe Ruth
team will be selected on the team roster.
Players wishing to participate in Babe Ruth must be between the ages of
13-15 on or before April 30, 2006.
CYAA
has two major baseball teams participating in the Lamprey River Little League.
Each team is comprised of 12-13 players and is governed by official Little
League Baseball rules. Players wishing
to participate in Majors baseball must tryout to make one of the teams. Any
player not selected as part of the draft will automatically be selected by a
Minor league team. Players wishing to
participate in Majors must be between the ages of 9-12 on or before April 30,
2006.
In
2009 CYAA had four minor baseball teams participating in the Lamprey River
Little League. Each team is comprised of 12-13 players and are
governed by official Little League Baseball rules. Players wishing to
participate in Minors baseball do not need to attend a tryout but are highly
encouraged to do so to ensure balanced minor league team skill levels. Players wishing to participate in Minors must
be between the ages of 8-12 on or before April 30, 2006.
In
2009 CYAA had four farm league baseball teams participating in the Lamprey
River Little League. Farm is designed to be an instructional coach pitch league
to help the players develop the fundamental skills necessary to play at the
Minor and Major league level. Players
wishing to participate in Farm must be between the ages of 6 – 9 on or before
April 30, 2006.
In
2009 CYAA had four tee-ball teams. Tee-Ball is an introductory program designed
to introduce the player to the game of baseball and begin to develop the
fundamental skills of throwing, catching, and hitting. Players wishing to participate in Tee-Ball
must be between the ages of 5-6 on or before April 30, 2006. T-Ball is a clinic style program designed to
involve both parents and kids in learning the game.
